Ingredient notes
- Atlantic salmon - This is my favorite, go-to salmon and it is readily available in most supermarkets.
- Brown sugar - Both light and dark brown sugar can be used.
- Chili powder and Chinese 5 spice powder add bold flavor without being too spicy. If you prefer extra heat, add a touch of cayenne pepper.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Combine brown sugar and spices and cover the top of the salmon fillets with the spice rub. Transfer the salmon to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the salmon until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. This will take 17-20 minutes depending on the thickness of the salmon.
Serve with a vegetable side dish and a green salad with balsamic dressing for a satisfying meal.
Storage and reheating
Cooked salmon will last for 3-4 days in the refrigerator when stored in an airtight container.

- 2 6-8 ounces boneless salmon fillets
Instructions
